You will receive a comprehensive fatty acid report with reference values and explanations.
How reliable is a dried blood spot test compared to a visit to the GP?
The DBS (Dried Blood Spot) method is clinically validated and delivers results comparable to venous blood tests from a laboratory (Harris et al., 2012). The analytical laboratory Vitas AS in Oslo holds GMP certification and specialises in fatty acid analysis. Advantage over the GP: most doctors only measure EPA+DHA in blood serum — that reflects the past few days, not the past few months.
When should I take the follow-up test?
